The month of August was a beginning of a new MRXUH as we celebrate another milestone, and as a prelude event to our “60 and Beyond” mind set of events; we begin it by celebrating the World Breastfeeding Week last August 7-11, 2018.

It was a jam-packed week as we made sure to provide a preeminent event for all our walk-in guests, breastfeeding mothers and to the, to be mothers.

August 7 we begin it with a Malunggay Cooking Contest wherein we showcased different types of dishes with a main Ingredient of Malunggay. The winning dish was the Malunggay Omelet. On August 8 we had a Human Milk Letting Drive for the benefit of the preterm and sick babies at the NICU. Also together with the Philippine Information Agency we had a Talakayan about the importance of breastfeeding. August 9 we had a Mother and Infant Dyad Pagalingan Contest where mothers and their babies showcase a duo talent. Lastly August 11 was the culminating event where special lectures about breastfeeding were discussed by some of our finest Doctors in the Hospital.

It was also our pride that we received a Certificate of Commitment from the Department of Health Region 10 for being an MBFHI (Mother Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative). The official turnover of our National Award also happens on the said culminating activity from the Philippine Pediatric Society Breastfeeding Committee National as PPS Breastfeeding Friendly Hospital, the award was turnover by our Assistant Nursing Director Mam Fanny Guinita who received the award at Manila, to the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics Dr. Fernando Go; Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Dr. Rico Borromeo, MRXUH Medical Director Dr. Raul Andutan, Co-Chairman Breastfeeding Committee Dr. Jessa Sarreno, Chairman for Breastfeeding Week 2018 Dr. Raissa Paje-Bayawa, and our Nursing Director Sr. Anna Tigniero.
